Could turkey be on the engangered species list?

Could turkey be heading for extinction from family holiday dinner tables?
On Sunday we made perogies and cabbage rolls for the second time this fall. And since we were making them we decided that was what we were going to have for supper.
We invited some of my honey's family over, some of which had never had perogies or cabbage rolls.
Everyone agreed that perogies are awesome and those that tried cabbage rolls were in agreement with the same verdict.
As a kid I remember many a time we would make a meal out of just perogies or cabbage rolls.
But as an adult we often add them as a side dish to holiday meals.... along with turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.
But Sunday almost everyone agreed that they wouldn't mind seeing turkey take a back seat at the next holiday or two and have more cabbage rolls and perogies front and center!
I still love turkey and lobbied to keep the bird as part of our dinners, but I was the minority.
