Robert "Bob" Armstrong, 80

Sadly the family announces the passing of Robert Victor Armstrong age 80 of Rainy River, ON. on Monday May 11, 2015 at the Rainy River Hospital with family by his side.
Bob was born in Sleeman, ON, on May 23, 1934 to Arthur and Elizabeth Armstrong. He was united in marriage on September 4, 1954 to Wilma Carroll of Sioux Lookout, ON.
They later moved to Fort William, ON. were he began his career with the Fort William Police Dept. and later retiring as a Det. Sgt. with 33 years service .
Bob was an avid outdoors enthusiast and known to be a Jack of all trades and enjoyed spending time at his camp at Graham Lake with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Wilma, of Rainy River, ON; his daughters Laureen (Andrew) Cordeiro and Diane Tetley of Thunder Bay and his son Robert (Lori) Armstrong of Pinewood, ON. Bob will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Andrew (Lesley) Cordeiro, Jillian (Christopher) Courtis, Michael Cordeiro (Amy), Mallory, Erin, Dayna Tetley and Kirsten Armstrong; great grandchildren, Zachary and Griffin Courtis.
He is also survived by two sisters Betty (Arnold) Brown and Marg (Rick) Ganyo, brother –in law Reg Kaus and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his Sister Doreen Kaus.
A Celebration of Bob's life was held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the Rainy River Knox United Church, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating. Interment took place in Blue Cemetery. Honourary pall bearers were all of Bob's grandchildren.
