Schools visit Spruce Creek Golf Course

Submitted by Laurie Pentney The four west end schools, Our Lady of the Way, Riverview, McCrosson-Tovell and Pegamigaboo (Big Grassy) all had a field trip out to Spruce Creek Golf Course last month to learn to golf. Spruce Creek offers this day to any school at a reduced rate thanks to our many sponsors. Lots of laughter, shouts of “good shot”, and “try again” are heard from teachers and students alike. Everyone had a sunny day, although the wind was really blowing the day that Our Lady of the Way school was here!

Or sometimes when she was baking cookies my mom would roll some dough into a small ball and offer it to us to taste the cookies before they were baked. Chocolate cake batter was always my favorite, although a lemon cake was equally good.
