Uncle Bob saves the day again!

Have you ever attempted something that you thought you could do and then could not quite get it right when you were in the moment?
Well I experienced that over the weekend. On my recent vacation I helped build my fiancee a garage in Bemidji. I worked closely with her dad, Marty Brown, on just about every step of the construction. There were days where I was completely lost, but he knew what to do, so I just followed his lead.
One day, during the project, we were getting ready to dig the trench for the plumbing to the garage, as it will eventually hold a business as well as her car. Marty was stumped. He was not sure of the proper grade for the sewage to run from the garage to the septic field. He had me look it up on the internet but he was still not sure of the information.
Then my Uncle Bob Johnston arrived to see how the project was going. Bob, having built many things over his lifetime quickly assured Marty that the grade we had obtained from the internet was correct. Marty immediately lost that look of bewilderment on his face and set to digging.
On the weekend I was attempting to string the wire and install the junction boxes in the garage. Kim had bought me a Do It Yourself (DIY) book on wiring.
I had been studying it for weeks and doing what they instructed sounded simple. But then I ran into a situation that was not in the book.
I sat and pondered how to make the circuit I was working on work. I flipped through the book and could not find an answer. I texted Uncle Bob and it was hard for him to tell me over the cell.
Fortunately for me he decided to come for a visit on Saturday and within minutes had made what seemed like a big dilemma, simple to do.
Once again Uncle Bob saved the day and took the sense of bewilderment from my gut and face.
It is funny how the human mind works. Give me a newspaper to lay out and I can do it without thinking. Give me something I am not quite comfortable with and a small road block and I stalled out.
After Bob's visit I strung a great deal of wire and prepared it for the electrician to come and do the final hook ups and inspection. I just hope I did things right... oh no.. there is that feeling of bewilderment again... maybe I should get Uncle Bob to have a look before the electrician comes!

–Until then,
