Thanks for not being a stooge!

Sadly the parties are all alike.
Yes the federal parties all spout off about what they would do differently if they were running the country.
All claim to be democratic parties; representing those who elected them... us!
Last week our Member of Parliament, John Rafferty, was reprimanded by his party, the New Democratic Party, for voting with the Conservatives to abolish the Long Gun Registry in Canada.
Rafferty said he was not told it was a whipped vote and felt that he had to vote the way his constituents here in Thunder Bay-Rainy River wanted him to... against the registry.
Rafferty has travelled the riding extensively and sent out surveys to constituents. The majority of them told him they are in favour of scrapping the registry.
But the interim leader of the NDP was not happy with Mr. Rafferty's choice to be a true democrat. For his willingness to do what we elected him to do, he was gagged, removed from committees and had his travel restricted. In effect, we are all being punished because he was democratic.
So much for the name of the party, the New Democrats.... sounds more like the old politics of yesteryear where Prime Minister Chretien banished Liberal MP Bob Nault to the back benches for the exact same vote.
I stand with Mr. Rafferty and extend praise for standing up for us. We elected you to be our representative, not some party stooge.
