It was quite a weekend
From shorts to toques in three days! It was quite a weekend!
On Friday all our company arrived in Rainy River around lunch time.
The plan was to have dinner at my house. With the help of my honey, Kim, we put together quite a spread of beer can chicken, potato salad, frontier beans, cabbage rolls, etc.
While everything cooked, we all gathered out on my deck and enjoyed the sun. Although it was windy, it was still warm enough for shorts!
While sitting there we were entertained by a US water bomber fighting a fire just south of Baudette. It kept returning to the Rainy River to reload and douse the fire.
Saturday we had another feast at my folks to celebrate Easter. Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed taters and of course Uncle Bob's famous Parmesan Buns! It was all good!
Since we ate our big meal Saturday, the travelling members of the family left early Sunday. Leaving me to myself and the yard work I have been putting off.
With a small beef roast in the crock-pot, I set about piddling away on a cooler day and had lots done before it got so cold Sunday night that it snowed and we had to wear winter coats and hats Monday!
–Until then,
Ken
