Devastating news brings family together

Last week the biggest event of the century culminated on Monday.
We came to work Tuesday ready to do battle with the 600+ photos and pages and pages of information and pare them down for you to read. It was no small task.
Then at Noon that day we received some devastating news. Our Sale Representative’s (Linda Johnston) grandson passed away. Only a couple of months old, Zander had barely begun to live.
We were totally devastated to say the least.
Linda left immediately for Winnipeg where her daughter Kelly and partner Jarrod live.
To have such a fun weekend end and a new week begin with such awful news was very hard to take.
Personally I found it very difficult to concentrate

the rest of the day and getting the paper out was very tough. But we managed even if our thoughts and prayers were with Kelly, Jarrod, their son Perry, and Linda, Bob and their extended families.
This Wednesday at 2 p.m. we will all gather at the Legion to remember the joy Zander brought us in his brief time with us. We will pull together as a community, and comfort the family. This is what makes small communities like one big family.
Having just spent several days celebrating how great this little town is, now we will come together to share the pain and help make it better.
–Until then,
Ken
