Feeling violated and unsafe

Ever feel unsafe? Violated?
Well Monday the Record Office staff discovered that the office had been broken into for a second time in less than two months.
The culprit(s) took money and nothing else. While it was a meager amount of cash, its what they took from us that is harder to recover.
That feeling of being safe in a small town. You know the one. Where you leave your doors unlocked because everyone knows everyone and no one would violate your personal space.
After the first break-in we had our locks beefed up, but apparently not enough of a deterrent for thieves.
So Monday we reinforced the doors even more. It looks like we are prepared for battle when looking at the newly braced door. It is sad that we can not feel safe in such a beautiful town.
