God works in mysterious ways!

I truly believe God works in mysterious ways. Two Fridays ago I attended the meat raffle at the Legion. The bartender, Glenda Halverson, came over to me and told me that there were two Shih Tzu dogs at the Lake of the Woods Humane Society in Baudette.
Knowing that I had put my long time canine friend down in Sept. she thought maybe I would be interested.
At first I just kind of shrugged it off.
Then by Monday the thought of them in the shelter had taken root in my mind. So Monday I looked them up on the internet. They were both gone. For a second or two I thought it wasn't meant to be. Then a window popped up and asked me if I wanted to expand my search. I clicked yes but only for 100 miles. One dog came up at a rescue in a town called Solway, just west of Bemidji.
I emailed them and asked about her.
It seems she had come to the rescue in July with five puppies. All the pups were adopted out but the mom was still hanging around.
A few days later my fiancee Kim and her daughter Veronica and I went to see Scarlet in person. We fell in love instantly.
As I write this she is sleeping in a bed beside my desk, already fitting into a routine.
I think how I rarely attend meat raffles and if I had not been there Glenda would not have mentioned that tidbit to me and the domino effect of events would not have happened.
The gift of pets from God is truly amazing.
