Two sides to this weather

Are we in for another mild winter with little snow?
The warm temperatures over the weekend and into Monday had me flirting with camping fever.
I never used to think about camping until well after Christmas... just because it would get me wanting to go so bad and December is a long ways from May. However, when it was mild like this last Dec. I started looking at campers on line and by the end of Jan. we had bought a new camper.
While I know we are not going to do that this year the warm weather had me wanting to put up the camper on the weekend and tinker with it. I resisted and as of today, the temps are supposed to drop back into the realm of winter.
I spoke to someone in passing on Monday and part of them was glad about the warm temps but also concerned.
I guess there are two sides to everything. Warm temps mean less winter and better heating bills.
However, she said her husband needs it to freeze so he can work in the bush.
Warm temps also mean unsafe ice conditions for ice fishing... definitely something anglers and the winter tourism business people do not want.
No snow means that when it does freeze septic fields and town water lines are at risk of freezing.
We will have to wait and see how winter turns out.
