Coping with the cold winter days

Brrrrrr!
Well we are finally getting a taste of real January weather! Not that I am happy about it, but it is good to get back to reality.
Last year we could hardly find a cold day in the calendar or even much for snowfall. While the snowbanks aren't what they should be for this time of year, the temperatures this week have certainly reminded us that it is winter.
Monday morning I heard a radio announcer say that Jan. 21st is the most depressing day of the year, according to some psychologist in the US.
Usually by then we have endured a long cold, cloudy spell with little opportunity to get outside; hence causing cabin fever and depression.
I wonder if the same holds true on years like last year where there were no long cold snaps?
I know I used to get the winter blues about this time of year, but in the past few years I have found ways to keep them at bay. I like spending time surfing camping websites and I also like to do jigsaw puzzles and read various camping related publications.
With this cold here for at least a few days I guess I better shift gears to the aforementioned activities and dream of summer!

–Until then,
Ken
