Everyone deserves praise!
Where does the time go?
On Saturday a group of friends, family and coworkers gathered to work on a dinner to raise funds for a charity.
That dinner was originally the Alzheimer's Dinner to Remember. Linda Johnston and Marlene McNally were the ones who organized the event when it began.
Then when Linda became sick with Cancer and passed away, her husband, myself, Marlene McNally, and several other friends and coworkers kept doing it.
The Alzheimer Society's Exec. Director Margaret Schoneville brought the idea of naming it the Linda Johnston Memorial dinner to light.
So for four years it was a Dinner to Remember. Now it has been the Linda Johnston Memorial Dinner for five years.
Where does the time go?
Every year the dinner is well received by the community. You have supported it very well, usually raising between two and three thousand dollars! That is huge for a community this size!
Some of the volunteers, the Record Office included, were presented with certificates for their nine years of service to the function. But in my eyes everyone who has worked it and supported it by coming deserves to be recognized. So a big "Thank you" to all of you!
–Until then,
Ken
