I work for and with good people

As some of you know I was away last week.
While a group of us were busy running the annual alzheimer's dinner in Rainy River two Saturday's ago, my fiancee ended up having emergency surgery.
As the day went by I learned that it went well but she was going to need some help to get back on her feet the following week.
I made a decision that once the dinner was over I would come into work on Sunday and set up as much of the paper as I could and then take a week of holidays to go and care for her and the kids.
I ran it by my staff and they were good with it.
In fact they both came in on Sunday morning to make sure all was good with the paper for the rest of the week. I hadn't expected them to come in but I was grateful they did.
Again they did an amazing job running the show while I was gone. Thanks Anne and Dawn! Kim and I really appreciated it.
I did not speak directly to my boss but instead sent an email on Sunday explaining what was going on and they also were understanding.
I am thankful to work for and with such good people.
Kim is on the mend and I am back at work!
–Until then,
Ken
