What a weather roller coaster we have been on the last week.
Last Monday it was in the 80s and we were all talking about a great and warm summer coming early. How quickly we forget that April is a transition month and that weather patterns often flutter back and forth from sub-wintry to sub-summer.
On Monday my girlfriend and I were talking about golfing on the weekend... by week’s end we were talking about how to keep warm and even saw some snowflakes on Friday.
Sunday things moderated a bit and I was able to get out in the yard and do some work. I tilled my garden, a friend’s and my Uncle Bob’s. It was a productive day and warm enough for me.
Then Monday came and sure enough the 80s we had seven days prior were nothing more than a memory. It was snowing and raining all day.
The forecast is not much better either, but it is
after all, April.
I have heard people say that last Monday was our summer and that we are in for another cool summer like last year. Well I think we need to be optimistic and hope for a good weathered summer.
Some optimists have planted some of their gardens already... while I am optimistic about the summer ahead... I think I will wait another couple of weeks before I plant my garden.
. . .
An update for you.
First of all thanks to all who called, talked to me on the street or emailed about Odie... if only he knew how many people were thinking about him.
He is, in my opinion 100% of where is going to be. He is an old dog and has slowed quite a bit in recent months. But he is getting around and eating normally again.
–Until then, Ken
