Hooked on beer caps
Ken Johnston
With the U.S. season opener just passing and ours scheduled for this weekend, fishing fever is reaching thermometer popping levels.
For many fishermen, cold bottles of beer also go hand in hand with the experience; whether it is to batter the fish with before cooking or to drink while telling stories about the one that got away.
A few months ago I received a press release from a company that has taken the fishing experience that includes beer and derived what it claims to be a sure fire way of catching fish from the bottled beverage.
No they aren't suggesting you pour beer on your bait or into the water.
No you don’t use the bottles to club the fish.
In fact you use the bottle caps as lures.
The company, Original Bottle Cap Lures has
found a use for discarded beer caps. They have made them into fishing lures by folding them in half and attaching a hook to one end and a swivel to the other.
One can even put bait inside the cap and squeeze it shut.
They claim that they catch fish like crazy... even if you have not drank a great many of beers before fishing.
I wonder which brand gets the fish more interested?
More information about the lures or how you can get your caps made into them is available at www.bottlecaplure.com.
