Awesome Canada Day eh!

What a great Canada Day!
The weather was fantastic. There were people in the park just about all day and both the parade and fireworks were worth the watch!
I hung out with my niece and a couple of other kids most of the day in the park, bipping in and out of events all day with the camera to get photos for the paper.
The event was well attended and everyone seemed to be having a great deal of fun!
Canadian flags, t-shirts, hats, painted faces and floats in the parade truly exhuberated the fact that we are all proud to be Canadians.
The fireworks were almost as good as last year’s which were bigger because of the town’s centennial.
There were many groups working behind the scenes to make the day fun for everyone. They included the Rec. Board, Chamber, Fire Dept., Covenant Church, RR Charitable Assoc., and CIBC (sorry if I missed anyone).
Of particular note was the group from CIBC. They were very busy painting faces, streaking hair, running games and serving free ice cream. They were truly kid favourites!
Everyone deserves a pat on the back for a great day!
