What a “crappy” reason to party!
Ken Johnston
What is an outhouse?
By traditional definition one would think it is a structure located over a hole in the ground that one uses to relieve themselves of number one and two.
Usually they are hot and smelly in the summer and very cold in the winter. Well over the weekend I learned that the definition of an outhouse has been reworked.
Good friends of mine and fellow newspaper people (they own and operate the Northern Light inBaudette, Warroad Pioneer and several other papers in northern Minnesota), held their fourth (oops I mean Fart) annual outhouse party.
The party is an open house to show off the newly defined outhouse.
The Bergman outdoor crapper is anything but crappy.
It is air conditioned and has a flush toilet. It also has a shower and a sink as well as a heater for the winter months. It is lavishly decorated up with ceramic tile and pine.
I have resisted going into the Taj Mahal (as I have called it) for four years out of fear that the legends of its grandeur would be forever ruined for me. I was not let down. It is truly impressive. So why celebrate this new definition of an outhouse?
Why not! I can’t think of a “crappier” reason to party!!!!
