You are here
How is the weather affecting you?
Ken Johnston
The heat is fine it is the darn humidity that gets to me.
I am not sure about you but I love the summer heat, but throw in a day with high humidity and I could find myself wanting for winter.
But then the thought of those very expensive heating bills come into my mind and I quickly come to my senses. Instead of praying for cooler temps I pray for less humidity.
Not sure if the gardens are sure if they like the mugginess either.
I have talked to many people who say their gardens are growing well but some are thinking their tomato plants are not producing fruit like they
should be.
I am in that boat as well. My beef steak tomatoes are growing good but only have a few tomatoes on them. My cherry tomatoes on the other hand are doing great as are my beans.
One of the neighbours was saying his potatoes are all tops and another said he is getting lots of spuds from his plants.
So maybe the gardens like some of the weather and not all of it.
In any case, we will have to endure this muggy spell for a bit more... won’t be long and it will be getting colder and colder.
–Until then,
Ken
