I tried to fly but gravity won!

Have you ever slipped and fallen?
Well with the lack of snow and all the rain we have had it is like a skating rink out there.
Over the holidays I managed to fall on the river while putting our fish shack down there.
It was glare ice everywhere and stupidly I wore my running shoes down there.
We were trying to get enough snow to bank our shack. There was very little snow but next to where we put the shack there was the remains of where someone had moved an shack. So I proceeded to walk over there and shovel the snow over to our shack... about the 10th time I tried to fly.
Whoosh!
Shovel in hand my feet flew out from under me and I came crashing down unable to break my fall.
I landed on my shoulder and side and have been suffering with cracked ribs ever since.
I have heard of several others falling in town and sympathize with them. I am still in pain, albeit not nearly as bad as over the holidays.
Can’t wait for the ribs to heal completely but until then I will go slow and easy... there is no way I want to fall again.
–Until then,
Ken
