New meaning to recycling

Recycling took on a new meaning last weekend for me and my best friend Jim Armstrong.
A couple of weeks ago he and his wife purchased a new washer and dryer set from Lowes Furniture.
We moved the new ones in and Jim and Sue offered me their old dryer as mine has never worked well since the floods we had a few years back.
Well we did not have time to move their old dryer to my place that day so we waited until this past weekend.
We did that on Sunday and while we were down in the basement we decided to haul out an old deep freeze I had and instead of hauling it to the dump we made a few alterations to it and it is now a new garbage box for my dad... from whom the freezer originally came.
Well Jim liked how that turned out and decided that rather than hauling an old freezer he had in his back driveway to the dump he would do the same to it.
So now all we are left with finding new uses for is a dead washer and my dead dryer. That is much better than hauling two dryers, two freezers and a washer out there just to be thrown away.
Now all we need to do is figure out what we could use the dead washer and dryer for... hmmm... maybe my mom needs them for planters (wink wink nudge nudge mom!).
Well if we don’t find a use for them at least we have cut down on our contribution to the landfill by quite a bit.
–Until then,
Ken
