The sounds of the season

The sounds of spring were everywhere over the weekend.
While my neighbours, Jim and Sue Armstrong, were over sitting on my deck, we enjoyed the weather that Mother Nature had finally delivered.
The only down side of finally getting outside was that everyone’s idea of being outside comes with different things to do.
While we were relaxing many others were busy doing yard work. I could hear a chainsaw running, a lawnmower going, a motorcycle revving up and lots of voices as the kids played in the park.
It is so depressing being cooped up in the house all winter, but it is quiet.
While we enjoyed the nice weather, we did comment that it is too bad it has to get so noisy when spring comes.
But that is the price one pays to live in town rather than in the country.
But out in the country there are noises too, just not as many man made ones.
With the return of spring comes the return of wild life such as birds. Particularly noisy this time of year is the returning seagulls squawking away.
Soon the buzz of mosquitoes (incidentally we saw one on Sunday) and other bugs will also be annoying us.
The consolation is we do get to get outside and stop being cooped up.
–Until then,
Ken
