You are here

Back to normal, I hope!

What a week it was last week.
The Krahn fire did what few new stories do to us at the paper... it trumped everything else.
On Monday I was trying to figure out how we were going to run the pictures and the story. After running off eight different front pages we settled on the one you saw.
However, that ment I had to move the insides of the paper around quite a bit to accommodate the photo only front page.
The story for the fire was put on page three, usually the spot for regular columns to run. So in turn some of them were moved to other places in the paper which in turn moved other regular features to other places.
Even page two had to be adjusted to make sure we ran as much local copy as possible.
When it was all over we had the paper out and I have not heard more comments about a particular paper in many years.
All the comments were complimentary, especially for the dramatic photo on the front page. I thanked everyone but noted it is sad that such a spectacular photo is of something so sad.
Well we are back to normal this week, well at least I hope everything is back its right place... after all I am writing this before the paper is put together... so I will cross my fingers and hope it goes together without a hitch!
–Until then,
Ken
