A very fun and productive weekend
It is amazing how much a person can get done on the weekend.
After returning home from Winnipeg on Friday with my Uncle Bob and Auntie Linda, the planning process began Friday evening.
Plans for a great many jobs were tossed around, but in the end several big jobs were selected.
The first big one was the shoveling of gravel at my buddy Jim’s place. That was back breaking work for an office worker like me!
He recently moved his fence line in so he could make his driveway much larger to accommodate his boat and two vehicles.
We got that done late Saturday afternoon. My girlfriend came up that afternoon and said we should go for a boat ride.
Jim and his wife Susie agreed. At first I was cold to the idea, sore back and all. But after a hot shower we hopped in the boat and went up stream first. We marvelled at the cloud formations over Lake of the Woods and then travelled downstream to the Pines Park where we went ashore for a bit.
Jim found a coffee mug in perfect shape with a Rooster on it... Susie’s favourite choice for kitchen decor.
I found a piece of an old bottle. It says on the piece “Drink High Top, bottled in Fort Frances, 10 fl. oz.” But all I have asked about it do not remember what High Top was... soda? beer? Maybe you know?
On Sunday we did some repair work to my fence line and like most people did not gripe about the power being off as there was plenty of gardening to do.
It was a very productive and fun at the same time type of weekend.
–Until then,
Ken
