Turning the “Big 4 0” three times!

How many times can one turn 40?
The answer would seem to be once... but in my case it seems like there is no end in sight for the number of times I will turn this week.
On Sunday I had one day left to enjoy my decade known as the Thirties. But the day marked not only the end of a decade of my life but the end of a very trying week with one of my dogs.
My youngest Shih Tzu, Ricky Ricardo, was sick all week and by Sunday I knew he had to go to the vet.
My vet left on vacation on Friday so my girlfriend talked me into bringing him to her in Bemidji to take him to her vet. So off I went. While it was a somber reason to make the trip there, when I arrived I discovered that Kim and her parents had planned a small celebration for my milestone. We barbecued and had cake. It was great and the presents were nice. Thanks.
Also thanks to Jack Elliott and Anne Mailloux for covering for me while I travelled.
Monday, my actual birthday, I was surprised that there was nothing done to my house while I was gone having been gone overnight.
I arrived at work to find a sign on the office door which was nice. Then at lunch I discovered that the birthday bandits were waiting for me to go to work to do my house up. The put police crime scene like tape across the doors warning of a 40th birthday partier inside. Thanks guys!
This weekend I have been informed that we will be celebrating my birthday once again when my brother, sister and cousin and their families come to call me old to my face!
So the way it looks I am going to turn 40 at least three times this week... hmmm... let’s see... if my math is correct that makes me 120 years old... well after all those celebrations I will probably feel that old!

–Until then,
Ken
