How much longer will the season last?

I think it is a first for me. Having tomatoes growing on the vine in October!
A couple of weeks ago I picked them all off thinking the season was over. After all they were calling for frost. Well my yard was spared and my plants, having lost all their fruit, began flowering like crazy again.
A week went by and there were several tomatoes growing and for the past week they have continued to do so.
I even had a volunteer cherry tomato just begin producing, having come up late in the season.
It sounds like they will get at least one more week to grow as the forecast does not call for below freezing temperatures until Saturday and even then it is just below the mark... so I may get more time yet.
While I know it is highly unlikely that I will get much more than another week I am going to hold out as long as I can so I can say some day, “I remember growing tomatoes well into October.”
Considering they were started in March, they have had a fairly long growing season for this part of the country.
–Until then,
