You are here
Who is to blame for the weather?
Have you ever noticed no one wants to take responsibility for the first snow of the year?
Tuesday morning my phone rang around 7:15 a.m. with the extol “It snowed here and the ground is white! Did you send it here?”
Then at work I answered a call from someone in Fort Frances who said it had not snowed there but we could keep our snow.
Funny how in Canada we spend more than half the year dealing with the white stuff but none of us seem to like seeing it arrive.
Yet there are plenty of people who enjoy winter activities like snowmobiling, ice fishing or skiing.
I myself do not mind the white stuff once it gets here and stays. I hate the in between rain, snow, cold dampness that comes with the first snow of the season.
I was watching US weather forecast from Grand Forks the other night and the weather person almost accused Canada of being responsible for the impending white stuff and yucky weather.
While the truth of the matter is none of us can be blamed for the weather, good or bad, it seems that with the change of the seasons everyone wants to find someone to pin the downward spiral on.
Oh well in a few weeks it will be full blown winter and this week’s start will be only a memory with no one proven to be at fault.
–Until then,
