Do not adjust your newspapers!

Do not adjust your sets.... oops I mean newspapers.
As with any major technological change their often comes hiccups and last week our transition from old software and old computers to new ones fell prey to just that.
All week I was nervous about how the change was going to go. I even lost sleep over it.
On Tuesday all our computers went to Fort Frances to get either upgraded or downloaded onto respective new computers.
On Wednesday we received a call letting us know the change was going to take an extra day.
Thursday I travelled to Fort for a meeting and afterwards was told we would have to put the paper out using the old system one more time.
In an instant all the stress I was feeling was gone.
But now it is back. As I finish putting this week’s paper to bed, I will be disconnecting my computer and taking it with me to press again this week.
So if you think our transition appears to have gone off without a hitch you haven’t seen anything yet.
This week we hope the technician working on our system will have us ready to roll by Thursday; and then we can start pulling our hair out as we try and learn something new.
I hope it is true that you can teach old dogs new tricks!
–Until then,
Ken
