A new year...
It is a time that so many of use as a pivotal point to try and change the way we live our lives.
Perhaps it is to quit smoking, exercise more, quit swearing or diet.
For me this year I am hoping that the will power I had two years ago to stick to a diet and exercise more will come back to me.
Two years ago I stepped on the scale after Christmas and watched as the dial tipped 200 lbs. for the first time in my life. That was enough to initiate a drive to lose some weight. It worked... at one point I dropped 32 lbs. to 173 lbs... about what I weighed when I graduated from high school some 22 years ago.
I did gain a bit back but managed to maintain it for about a year and a half.
Then the treat syndrome crept up on me. You know the one... A little treat here one day, a little there a couple of days later and eventually there were more treats than good eats.
Well I completely binged on treats this past holiday season and now I am hoping I am treated out!
I have resolved to eat better starting yesterday and to exercise as much as possible. Only time will tell if I can stick to it and trim my waistline back to a healthier size.
Making resolutions is easy, it is keeping them that is so hard.
Good luck to all of you in the same boat as me.
–Until then,
Ken
