Hurry hard over to the curling rink Fri.

There has to be enough curlers in and around Rainy River to make up the difference between closing the club and keeping it open.
If the curling club gets about 24 more curlers to sign up for one league (Men's, Women's or Open) per week they can make it through another winter. If they get more it will be easier but six team is basically all they need, providing all the teams from last year fill their same slots again this year.
That would roughly put the membership at about 80-90 adults, up from 60 last year. Percentage wise that seems like about a 40% increase from last year, but number wise, there has to be 24 people out of the 1,000 in Rainy River and 1,000 in Baudette that would like to play the game, whether it is for the first time or again after a break from it.
So talk to your friends this week and see if you can round up a team and head over to the curling rink this Friday evening to sign up.
Not only is it good for your health and social life, it is good for the community. We need every service we have in Rainy River and can not afford to let this one slip away over 24 people.

–Until then,
Ken
