There is something about the first snow

There is something about the first snow of the season.
The first snow prompted me and my buddy to do the work on our ice fishing shack that we swore we were going to do all summer.
It also prompted us to finish up the firewood pile in my yard.
It also got me in the Christmas mood enough to put up Christmas lights over the weekend.
I also noticed my nearly 11 year old dog was playful like a puppy once he hit that first snow.
My Uncle Bob began his annual Christmas baking ritual and booked himself as our office Christmas party caterer again last week.
I saw people on Facebook saying that the snow made them feel like they could start their Christmas baking, crafts and decorating.
One person even had on their status that they were listening to Christmas music all weekend.
Strange how so many of us dread the coming of cold wintery weather, then when it arrives we seem to get giddy and excited about it.
While it is fun right now, I am sure the novelty will soon dissipate as we hunker down for another five or six months of the white stuff.
