KidSport deserved a better turn out

Sunday evening I attended the first Rainy River KidSport Variety Show at the Rainy River Community Centre.
I was shocked that there were so few people there watching.
It was a talent packed hour of entertainment and was well organized.
I have been to some variety shows years ago that would allow far too long for each participant to perform.
Sunday they each had ten minutes and they flew by as each of the performers did a marvelous job of entertaining those present.
It never ceases to amaze me how many talented people there are in this area.
The sad part about Sunday was that not only did people miss great entertainers, they missed an opportunity to help others while enjoying the music and get a tax break at the same time.
KidSport held the event as a fund raiser. All the monies raised will be used to help kids that can not afford to participate in physical activities do so.
I commend the KidSport Board for working so hard to help the less fortunate and the entertainers for freely giving their time and talents to benefit the less fortunate.
I hope that the next time KidSport calls on the public for their help that they will oblige them.
–Until then,
