New phone number a waste of time

Well it looks like what has been good for more than 50 years is no longer "efficient."
That was the surprised word from the corporation that oversees our hospitals in Rainy River, Emo and Fort Frances last week. They have decided to get rid of our local phone number at the local hospital... all in the name of 'efficiency."
When asked how it will be more efficient their spokesperson could not come up with an answer.
So now all of those, including me, who have learned the hospital phone number since we were kids 852-3232... will now have to learn a new number... a Fort Frances number.
Now if that isn't confusing enough... having to call a Fort Frances number to get a Rainy River facility... the fact that it will not be a person answering on the other end will complicate things even more.
If you are like me, I can not stand those automated phone systems that start off giving you language choices, then another choice and another and another... once you get through to a person they often tell you you have the wrong dept. and to call back.
How is this more efficient? You got me.
But as in any bureaucratic organization there has to be something for the workers to do... so why not fiddle with something that has worked for decades and see if we can reinvent the wheel.
Personally I think the whole plan is a waste of time and a waste of our tax dollars.
