My first interview using Facebook

As technology changes so does the way we do things here at the paper.
Facebook is designed to be a social network of friends. It allows you to post photos in albums for all of your friends to see as well as tell people what you have been up to.
When I first joined Facebook I was extremely leery about letting just anyone see my personal life. For a long time there were only about 20 people listed as my friends.
Then one day I decided that I would open the gate to many many more people. The results have been very good.
I guess I thought that sharing too much of my personal life was not a good thing, but then I thought about what I do in this space every week and said to myself, "You already do that and have for nearly 20 years."
With over 150 friends on there now I was surprised when I started receiving business via Facebook. I have received several ads, two letters to the editor and last week I did my very first interview over Facebook.
Using Facebook chat I saw that Lesley Wood was on line and I endeavoured to set up a time where I could get some information about the upcoming ice shows this weekend. To my surprise she started doing the interview with me over the internet and in about 20 minutes we had it all done and neither of us had to travel anywhere.
It is amazing what the internet and technology has done for us here.
–Until then,
Ken
