Good time despite a few obstacles

Have you ever had one of those weekends where lots of disjointed things happened but yet you still manage to have a great time?
Well that was what happened to us on the weekend. My fiancee, her kids and my parents travelled about two hours from Rainy River to camp for the first time this year.
I being a meticulous planner, had been working on the trip for about three months.
I had lists made up for myself, my folks and fiancee. I had all my camping gear checked and checked again and then placed near the front entrance of my house. I figured everything was in order and it was going to be a great trip. But then the unexpected happened... my car broke down.
I called a local garage and they took my car in right away and had hoped to have it ready for me in time to leave as scheduled. But as circumstance would have it that was not the case. So I decided to ride with my parents. That meant going through my pile of stuff and only bringing what I thought was essential.
At the same time my dad was making room for my essentials in his camper. This unexpected foul up must have thrown him for a loop as well because when we arrived at our destination he discovered he had forgotten his suitcase that not only housed his clothes but his medication.
Thank goodness Uncle Bob was not busy as he ran it down early the next morning.
We had several other unexpected obstacles pop up over the weekend but still managed to enjoy the weekend.
