Volunteers... what would we do without
them?
This past Wednesday the community celebrated Canada Day. The day began with a Teddy Bear picnic planned and run by volunteers from the RR Rec. Board. and the RR Toy Library Inc. Kids had their faces painted, decorated their bicycles and then participated in a bike parade.
Early in the day the volunteer fire dept. began their day long work on roasting a pig. That was for all to enjoy that evening.
Then that night, members of our fire dept. who had already toiled away at the pig, sacrificing their holiday, they oversaw the fireworks show that had this photographer salivating for more and more bursts and booms to take pictures of.
This coming weekend one of the community's larger events will be taking place with again countless volunteers putting together activities for all to enjoy.
We need to be thankful to all the volunteers in our community for without them we would have a lot less to do.
