Family is great!

If you have had a summer like I have so far you have to appreciate family as much as I do.
While I am lucky to live in the same place as my grandma, my folks and my uncle, the rest of my family is at least 3 hours away.
For my fiancee that number is even greater.
Two weeks ago her mom came to visit from Belize (Central America) where she and her husband are working on getting naturalized there. They are only allowed to be out of Belize for 14 days in a year to accomplish that. She stayed about a week.
Then last week Kim's dad, who many fastball players of yesteryear remember, Marty Brown, and his wife visited for a few days. Kim had not seen him in about seven years as he lives in Colorado.
Kim's siblings are spread out across the USA much more than mine are.
So when we had the opportunity to visit every moment was cherished. It made me thankful for my closest family members and for the visits I get at least a couple of times a year with my brother and sister from Winnipeg and their partners.
This weekend quite a few of us will be gathering to roast my sister who is turning 40. Family is great!
