White knuckle driving experience
How anyone can live in the big city is beyond me.
Thursday I drove my honey to the Twin Cities for a medical appointment there.
We left early enough to avoid the rush hour traffic, but it was still way too hectic for me and for her.
Eight lanes, exits, over and under passes everywhere. It was just way to much for this small town driver!
As we approached our hotel, I thought my knuckles were going to turn a permanent white colour as I gripped the steering wheel tighter and tighter as I navigated through the throng of big trucks, SUVs and cars.
While I was not sure where I was going, I was certain that many of the other drivers were equally lost. They dodge and weave in and out of one lane to another like confused ants.
We eventually arrived at our hotel and Kim had to pry my fingers off the wheel and coax me into the building where she assured me the traffic would be forgotten.
As it turned out she was right. It was a quiet night at the hotel and we had the pool and hot tub all to ourselves much of the evening.
That said, we awoke, went to the appt. and both agreed to get out of the city asap. We both agreed we could never live in that rat race!
