A fleeting feeling...

As the temperatures climbed on Sunday many people, including myself, took advantage to get some yard work done.
A chilly and often wet first couple of weeks in October left me thinking, "Will I get everything done that needs to be done before winter sets in?"
Well Sunday's wonderful 60 degree weather was just what I needed to get my work done.
A patch job on the back roof was in order first.
Later I finished pulling the annuals from the flower pots and put them away.
I then cleaned out space in the garage for the patio table and then carried it in there.
The deck chairs were put away in the sun porch, the hose drained and stowed away in the garage.
The screen door came off the patio and out came the grills from the patio doors to allow more light in as the days get shorter.
I took my bike out of the garage to make room for the charcoal and gas barbecues.
Wheeling the gas bbq down from the deck, I had a fleeting feeling that I could not quite put my finger on.
Late in the day I rode my bicycle up to Uncle Bob's where I had supper.
As I rode home knowing I was putting the bike away for the winter that evening, I figured out what that fleeting feeling was...
...summer is officially over.... sniffle sniffle!

–Until then,
