We owe them so much
November 11th is always a tough day for me.
As a young kid I remember my dad talking about my Great Uncle Neil fighting in the war and later in life I had the privilege of interviewing many local veterans to learn about what they did for our country and how they endured some of man's most horrific actions.
I find myself being very somber on Remembrance Day. Like everyone else there, I am in deep reflection.
Reflecting on the tremendous sacrifices that so many families gave when their loved ones went off to fight for our freedoms.
I reflect on how hard it had to be for families to lose sons and in recent times daughters as well.
I reflect on how grateful I am to be able to have the freedom to write this column and have an opinion without fear of reprisal from some oppressor like Hitler.
The world went to hell in a hand basket during the wars that took so many of our loved ones. But it has been a much better place because of them.
Tomorrow we all take time to remember them, and to be thankful for what they gave us.
–Until then, Ken
