Avoiding the shopping madness!
You would not know these are hard economic times if you were one of the throng shopping over the weekend!
Friday evening we made our list for the final shopping run! Stocking stuffers and a few last minute gifts were atop of the list.
We also listed all the stores we wanted to shop at.
The first one was a smaller store and luckily we found a great parking spot. After leaving there we headed for the mall. It did not take long and we headed out of the mall deciding it was way too busy for us!
We took a lunch break and reassessed our strategy.
After seeing the parking lot of a major discount store we looked at our list to see if we could at all costs avoid having to try and find a parking spot there and avoid the madness that the store had going on inside.
We went to a less busy discount store and managed to get most of what we needed. After that we went to the grocery store where it was busy but not with Christmas shoppers.
We headed for home and then on a spur of the moment stopped at one more store that did not look too busy.
We finished our Christmas shopping for the year and managed to avoid the madness. Whew, am I glad it is over.
There was definitely a lot of people out spending money. It will be interesting to see if the sales figures show the effects of the tough economy.
–Until then,
