Outsmarted by my smart phone!

Ever meet someone that is so smart that even on the most brilliant days you feel like you are dumb in comparison?
Well I had one of those experiences last Thursday, but it was not a person that made me feel inferior it was a gadget.
Last Thursday Uncle Bob and I decided to upgrade our cell phones to what is called a smart phone.
I figured that being a smart phone meant it could do a lot more than a regular cellular phone and for the most part I was right.
We began the learning curve Thursday evening and by Friday morning we were both feeling kind of dumb.
Uncle Bob brought his new phone to me at the Record office Friday morning saying, "I can't get it to ring at all!"
I played around with it and found the spot, buried deep within menus on the phone where I could turn his ringer both on and up and also switch the ring tones to various different ones. Problem solved! I felt pretty proud of myself. I had outsmarted a smart phone.
Well that was his phone a model 8230. Mine being the model below, an 8130, I figured it would be a cinch to do the same to my phone, which was ringing, just not loud enough to be heard very well.
I looked in the same place on my phone as Bob's but the option was not available. I looked everywhere. I read the book that came with it to no avail. I put the disk that came with it in the computer at home and found nothing.
Finally I decided to try and look it up on the internet using my computer and dialup connection. That was very frustrating. Then I got a brainwave... I have high-speed internet on my new phone. I logged on and the smart phone basically told me how to turn itself up.
I was outsmarted by my own smart phone.
