Close call!

The Rainy River Fire Department was called out last Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. to 305 Second St. where fire under a porch was reported. It was believed that the fire emanated from burning leaves along side the porch as the fire dept. checked under the porch and there was no wiring there. An unusual number of fire trucks arrived on the scene. Due to maintenance being conducted at the Rainy River Water Treatment Plant last week the town's water supply capacity was down which automatically triggered a fire call for assitance to the Dawson Fire Dept. in Pinewood. The fire was quickly extinguised and there was no loss of property.
