Fun can be contagious

It is just amazing how contagious something fun can be!
Several years ago my folks and I were camping and my mom had an Audubon Society Bird Atlas that she kept referring to whenever she saw a bird she did not know.
Initially I did not pay much attention to what she was doing. But as time went by I also became interested in identifying birds.
I would be walking my dogs around town and see a bird that I did not know. I would often keep it in the back of my mind until I found myself at my parent's breakfast counter having coffee and then searching through their bird atlas. I had caught the bug... or bird fever in this case!
I eventually ordered myself the same bird atlas from someone on ebay and often refer to it.
When I started dating my honey of three and a half years now, I introduced them to camping. I also found myself watching birds in her yard as she lives in the country.
At first she did not pay much attention to my somewhat casual hobby. Then in time she too became curious and now I think she to has caught the fever.
We purchased another bird atlas last summer and put it under the Christmas tree.
Since then she has become an avid bird watcher and started feeding them to bring even greater numbers and varieties of birds into the yard.
Over the weekend she added an Oriole feeder. However, I scored the first sightings. Twice I saw a lone oriole on Sunday. Now she is chomping at the bit to have a gander.

–Until then,
