She huffed and she puffed

Well she huffed and puffed and thankfully she did not blow any of our houses down.
With three days of hot humid weather many of us were worried what the old gal known as Mother Nature had in store for us over the weekend.
As the cold front approached from the west and stories of it spawning tornado activity to our west, I know I became concerned what might happen in Rainy River.
Saturday night the weather began its change. I watched my thermometer go from nearly 90 degrees down to 69 in about two hours.
Then as the last light faded from the sun, the rain came. However, the strong south easterly winds which were supposed to switch to westerlies would not give up.
They would rush up in huge gusts pelting my bedroom window with rain. Then they would ease off and I thought the westerlies would kick in... but they did battle for about two hours. This constant shifting of the wind had me thinking I would be running for the basement at any moment.
I am thankful we did not get a tornado and hopefully we never will.

–Until then,
