Family literacy day comes on January 27. It is a day that we can all find some time to sit down and read whether it is to ourselves, our children or our grandchildren. We all learn by reading and when families read together they also learn together. On the 27 schedule that time with your family.

Many of us have made New Years resolutions.

To carbon tax, or not to...

In the United States, democratic candidates at a debate in New Hampshire were asked whether or not they would support a carbon tax. Overwhelmingly they rejected the proposal citing that such a tax would fall on to the shoulders of consumers. Yet Nobel Prize winner Al Gore endorses the idea of a carbon tax.
Canada’s political leaders have also rejected the proposal noting that it would impact most heavily on oil and natural gas producing provinces and users of petroleum products.
