National Geographic has labeled this area and south into Iowa, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota as the centre of the continent. If one examines the crest of Rainy River First Nations, they too mark this area as the centre of North America.

I was a fishing guide on Rainy Lake this past weekend. My brother-in-law Tom, and his two sons Kyle and Ben, made their annual pilgrimage to our cabin. They come from Waterloo and Tom has a cottage on Healy Lake just south of Parry Sound.
There are fish in Healy but nothing to match the variety and quality of the fishery of Rainy. Rainy Lake did not disappoint them again this year. For the first two days, we committed to the south end of the lake in the immediate vicinity of our cabin. And each day, everyone caught lots of Northern, Bass and even a Perch.

In recent years, the price of electricity has increased substantially. Monthly bills that were once affordable have risen to the point that many people are struggling to make ends meet.

What if I told you that possibly hundreds of women and their children were victims of murder and human trafficking in and around Thunder Bay and the port of Duluth? How would you feel? What would you want to do about it? Sadly, this exact scenario was reported recently by the CBC.

Since the beginning of the summer break in parliament there have been some important developments on the Senate Scandal which keeps going and growing, so here is a bit of an update.
