Busy Beaver Fuels continues to grow

Body of missing man recovered on LoW

News Release OPP (KENORA, ON) -On Tuesday April 19, 2016, shortly after 6:00 pm., officers from the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a deceased male being located along the shoreline of Powder Island on Lake of the Woods. Members of the Kenora OPP Marine and Trails Unit and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit attended the location on April 20 and recovered the male. Read more...

High school teachers to begin strike action Wednesday

News Release OSSTF Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) teachers in District 5B, Rainy River have been engaged in a selective withdrawal of services since December 2015, and remain without a contract despite another day of negotiations this week. The union membership has grown increasingly frustrated with the Rainy River District School Board’s refusal to adequately address local issues at the bargaining table, and is today announcing that a full withdrawal of services, one day per week, will commence on April 27th, 2016.
