Standoff ends peacefully

On July 6, 2013 the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence located at the 1000 block of First Street in Fort Frances, ON. When the officers arrived at the scene, they were met by individuals outside the residence who had been involved in a dispute. A male subject refused to comply with police direction and returned to the residence and discharged a firearm a short time later. Police moved to safety and contained the surrounding area.
