Hospital physio still covered by OHIP
News Release - RHCF
Delisting of Physiotherapy Services in Ontario Budget Riverside Health Care Facilities advised that physiotherapy service provided in hospital outpatient departments will not be affected by the announcement that community-based physiotherapy (ie.OHIP Schedule Five) will be de-listed from OHIP.
“Hospital-based care, funded by the hospital, will not be affected by these changes”, reported Lori Maki, Manager of Ambulatory Support Services. “We have been receiving numerous calls and inquiries concerning the delisting of physiotherapy services announced in the May 18, 2004 Ontario Budget”, added Maki.
Although this will affect private Physiotherapy Clinics, it does not change the out-patient services provided by Riverside Health Care Facilities Inc.
“We want to reassure the public that our out-patient physiotherapy departments at La Verendrye Hospital and Emo Health Centre are continuing to operate as usual”, confirmed Maki.
