Centennial committee opts to waive fee increase

News Release
Rainy River Centennial Committee

Six weeks and counting until Centennial Homecoming Weekend
In a mere six weeks we will be into Rainy River’s Homecoming Centennial Celebrations. Here are a few updates.
Nearly 1600 have pre-registered for Homecoming. All those lucky folks will be have their packages waiting for them at them in a handy-dandy canvas Centennial Tote Bag at the Registration Tent to be set up in front of the Town Hall.
We’ve made some adjustments to the registration fees. The full registration fee will remain at $10 per adult (19 and over) rather than increasing to $15 for latecomers. This reflects the very generous support we have received from Rainy River Alumni in pre-registration, volunteerism, and financial donations.
Those generous souls who have already paid a $15 registration fee, when they pick up their Registration Package at Homecoming, will have the option of receiving a $5 refund or donating it to the Centennial Fund. We thank you in advance, for your understanding.
For those of you still not pre-registered, it isn’t too late. Get that $10 in and we’ll have a Package ready for you.
If you’re really having trouble with procrastination or the rusty hinges on your wallet, you can wait until Homecoming Weekend and purchase your admission bracelet at the Registration booth or when you enter the Big Tent area.
The Schedule of Events and the Dining Guide have gone to the printers and will be printed in the local press the week of July 18.
Asphalt paving of the Riverfront site for the Big Tent is now being prepared and the Tent itself will go up, Wednesday, July21. Remember we’ll need an army of volunteers that day.
The Centennial Committee meets every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (usually at the Senior’s Depot) from now through Homecoming Weekend. If you have something that needs to be on the agenda, or wish to volunteer some time, contact Crystal or Jack at the Centennial office at 852-3093 and yes, we have one of those nasty answering machines. But you see there’s simply too much work to do, to sit in the office waiting for the phone to ring.
So get those party duds dusted off and let’s get ready for the Big Bash!
